About the Airport
Keflavík International Airport is located 50 km from the centre of Reykjavík. The airport has two airstrips used mainly for International flights with the exception of the summer season when the hub also connects with the city of Akureyri.
The Airport was originally built during the Second World War, in 1987 the new terminal was inaugurated which resulted in a 500% increase in the number of passengers. The design of the commercial has been inspired by the history and culture of Iceland.
