What to see in London
London, thanks to its infamous double-decker buses, red telephone booths, the changing of the guard, Big Ben and much more, is still today one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It is ideal for short breaks, longer holidays and even short term work experience trips.

Following a guide to some of this sights not to be missed when you are in London:

Westminster
Dominated by an important clock tower, on which Big Ben, one of London’s most famous monuments, is located you can admire the Houses of Parliament. TheHouses of Parliament are built on the grounds that used to house the Palace of Westminster, which dated back to the XI century and was totally destroyed by a fire. Westimster Hall is the only aspect of the former palace that still remains today. The building is where the English parliament sits, in the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

guide Londres  - WestminsterOn the other side of Westminster Bridge you can visit the Lambeth district where you can find London County Hall, the London Eye, St. Thomas’ Hospital and Lambeth Palace.
If you head south you will come to the Tate Gallery, one of London’s finest exhibition centres that houses modern art pieces realised by international artists between the XIX and XX centuries as well as some of the greatest pieces from the Impressionist period.

Buckingham Palace
guide Londres - Buckingham PalaceSituated between St. James’s Park, Green Park and the Palace Gardens, you can see the Royal Family’s official residence in London. Buckingham Palace is also renowned for the changing of the guard which takes place in the building in front of the palace every day at noon.

Trafalgar Square
Dedicated to the victory of Admiral Nelson (the column in the center of the square is named after him: Nelson’s column), Trafalgar Square iso ne of London’s largest and most important squares hosting political demonstrations and the city’s most traditional welcome to the New Year!

guide Londres - Trafalgar SquareFrom Oxford Circus if you go east you will come across Soho Square, the heart of the Soho district, famous for it’s fabulous night life, China Town and the antique House of St. Barnabas.

North of Piccadilly Circus you can visit Carnaby Street and Regent Street, a couple of London’s most famous and busiest shopping streets, full of boutiques with top end designere labels and one-off pieces.
