Information on G. Galilei Pisa Airport (PSA), the main airport in Tuscany for national and international flights
Pisa G. Galilei airport (PSA) is the main airport for domestic and international flights in Tuscany, Italy.
The airport has a higher passenger transit number than Florence airport and this is primarily for two reasons:
- Pisa airport has a bigger runway and this allows larger aircraft to land there.
- Over the last few years, Pisa airport has been selected as the Tuscan low cost hub for the low-cost airlines, including Ryanair.
The airport has grown significantly since the 1990s when it first opened its doors to the low cost airlines. Today, 20 airlines, both flagship and low-cost fly to/from Pisa and connect it and Tuscany to many national, European and international destinations including New York.
