The Pyrenees are a mountain range on the French-Spanish border.
The highest peak of these mountains called Aneto reaches 3,404 metres and is located on the Spanish side of the mountains.
The Pyrenees are divided longitudinally in three sections:
Western or Atlantic Pyrenees: From the Gulf of Guascogna to the Pic d'Anie
Central Pyrenees: from the Pic d'Anie to the Puymorens hill;
Eastern or Catalan Pyrenees: from the Puymorens hill to the Gulf of Lion on the Mediterranean. Amongst the more popular destinations on the Pyrenees: Les Angles, Font Romeu. The main cities: Perpignan, Ceret, Prades.
