What to eat in Tenerife
On the island you will find a wide range of high quality restaurants. Whether you are looking for international, traditional or local cuisine – you will find it here. If you have a look around and observe where the locals eat out, you will note that they all go to places called ‘Guachinches ’ – a typical taverna in Tenerife (‘Guachinches ’ are called ‘ buchinches’ in other parts of the Canary Islands). These small and cosy restaurants are easy to find along and close to streets such as Taroconte or Acentejo.

What to see in Tenerife

During your holiday in Tenerife you definitely need to visit Santa Cruz, the capital of the island, which is famous for its Carnival celebrations, Samba schools and Samba music. During the carnival the city is infused with entertainment, music and energy in all streets and piazzas. To experience it yourself, the Carnival of Santa Cruz commences in January with the election of its queen and goes on until February, where the festivities culminate in a huge party with everyone on the island taking part. Puerto De La Cruz on the other hand prides itself with the astonishing view from its mountain Teide – from up there you can see the picturesque Harbour, lots of shopping areas and a the vastness of tourist entertainment.
