Budapest Airport

The International Ferenc-Liszt Airport in Budapest (IATA code: BUD) is the most important airport in Hungary. The name of the airport was changed by the Hungarian Parliament in 2011 from Budapest-Ferihegy (the name of the district where the airport is located) to the current Budapest-Ferenc Liszt, in honor of the famous composer. The airport serves both European and intercontinental flights.

The Budapest Airport has two terminals (T1, T2) but only one of them (T2) is currently used. Terminal 2 is divided in two zones: 2A (dedicated to Schengen flights) and 2B (non-Schengen flights and low cost flights). The terminals are connected by a shopping zone called Sky Court, with many shops, bars and restaurants.

The Budapest Airport is located approx. 16 km from the city and is well connected to its center.
Bus from the airport to the city centre:
In order to reach the city centre, you can take a BKK bus. The line no. 200E connects the airport with the Kőbánya-Kispest station, where the final terminus of the M3 metro station is located. The bus stops are located on the right outside the arrivals hall (if we leave Terminal 2) and on the left if we leave Terminal 2B.
After exiting the Kobànya-Kispest station, please take the metro M3 in direction Újpest-Központ. At the Kálvin Tér stop, you can change to the M4 metro line. The M1 and M2 metro line connections are available at Deak Ferenc.
There is also a night line from the airport to the Kobànya-Kispest bus stop: the line no. 900 operated only four night rides (from midnight to 4.00 am). From the Kobànya-Kispest station the passengers have to take a connection bus, as the metro is not operating during the night.
Taxi rank (Főtaxi company) is located just outside the Terminals 2A and 2B. Transfer to the centre is subject to the standard operator's tariff.
Near the Terminal 1, there is the Ferihegy train station, from where you can take a train to Budapest (Nyugati Station). This solution is no longer convenient due to the Terminal 1 closure.

In accordance with the airport safety measures, every passenger must undergo security check prior to entering the departure area. In order to speed up the procedure, we advise all passengers to double check the airport security regulations, prepare in advance the boarding pass along with an identity document and put the personal items in the containers on the tape.
During the security control, it is also necessary to declare liquid substances carried in hand luggage. Liquids must be carried in containers with a maximum capacity of 100ml, packed in diaphanous bags not exceeding 20x20cm. Each passenger (including children) can carry in his luggage only one bag with liquid substances.

You are allowed to bring the following substances:
• water, drinks, syrups
• perfumes, make up cosmetics
• cosmetics in pressurized packaging (foams and deodorants)
• creams, oils
• gels
• toothpaste
