Faro airport, also known as the Algarve airport, is located 5 km from the city centre of Faro which is the capital of the “Algarve district” (south coast of Portugal). The airport has an air strip which is located only 8 meters above sea level. Faro airport is the second busiest airport in Portugal (after Lisbon) and the sixth of all the Iberian peninsula.
