TREVISO AIRPORT

The airport "A. Canova "of Treviso Sant'Angelo is an international hub which is part of the Venice airport system. Although smaller than the other regional airports of Venice and Verona, in 2017, Treviso Airport reached the record figure of 3 million passengers in transit (mostly tourists).
The airport has a single terminal divided into the "Arrivals" area, located on the ground floor, and the "Departures" area located on the first floor, and a single runway which – despite beigng completely redone in 2011 - has undergone further rebuilding in 2017.

HISTORY: It was created in the '30s on the interest of the local Aero Club, and it will be necessary to wait until 1953 before it is elevated to the rank of civilian airport, hosting - in the same year - the first international flights. Until the '60s the airport of Treviso Sant'Angelo was the reference airport for the nearby city of Venice losing, after the inauguration of the most capable airport of Venice Tessera, most of the traffic. In the second half of the 1990s, following the entrance of Treviso Airport into the "Venice airport system" and the subsequent arrival of low-cost flights, the airport underwent a phase of rapid growth.

LOCATION AND CONNECTIVITY: "A.Canova" Airport is only 3km away from the historic city center of Treviso in the Sant'Angelo district, from which it takes its name. The historic city center of Venice is 25km away while Padua is about 35km away. The strategic location along the Treviso ring road allows quick access to the motorway network.
